Drift Exploration in Glaciated Terrain
About the Cover

The multiple till section at Joggins, Nova Scotia, with three brightly coloured tills, that reflect shifting ice divides in Maritime Canada during the last glaciation. The basal red till is derived from an eastward-southeastward ice flow across the Bay of Fundy. The middle, grey till is formed by a southwestward ice flow across Carboniferous coal measures from an ice centre in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The yellow till on top is formed by northwestward ice flow from an ice divide over Nova Scotia. Each successful till unit inherited some of the composition from the previous till, as well as overprinting it with its own distinct lithological signature.
