Yes, all members of the Geological Society will receive a user name and password. You are the only one licensed to use this password - you may not share it with anybody.
You can change your user name and password if you wish, but it is important to remember that these details are held independently for the Lyell Collection and for other Society services - so you will need to keep a careful record of your details on each site. There are instructions on what to do if you lose your details on this site - follow this link.
If you would like your institution to have access to some or all of the Lyell Collection you should approach your library comittee or librarian. To subscribe they should email sales{at}geolsoc.org.uk
Geological Society members will continue to receive a print copy of their chosen journal, though the Society may review this policy in the future. Society members will not receive print copies of any Special Publication or book titles to which they may have access via the Lyell Collection, though they may purchase copies at a special members' discount (normally 50%). Print copies of books can be ordered from the online bookshop.
Much of the Lyell Collection can be used and viewed free of charge. However, if you wish to view comprehensive full text access you may wish to consider joining the Geological Society (see below). Alternatively you may access Lyell Collection content on a pay-per-view basis, or purchase a full price individual subscription to the Collection.
