The values of the Arrhenius parameters obtained during analysis of K-feldspar from the South Cyclades Shear Zone (SCSZ), first using minimum least-squares line-fitting methods allowing the rejection of statistical outliers, and then using the Fundamental Asymmetry Principle to constrain the selection of the line to be fitted. The FAP cannot be significantly violated if MDD theory is to be applied. In consequence, the average of the activation energies ( E) determined increased from approximately 60 kcal mol−1 to a total of c. 73 kcal mol−1
