The framework of Eocene sedimentation in the Witch Ground Graben is described using an integrated analysis of seismic stratigraphy, biostratigraphy, and lithofacies mapping. Primary controls on the distribution of Eocene submarine fan sands are (1) Cimmerian tectonic elements, (2) palaeotopography created by deposition of Palaeocene sediments, and (3) variations in sea level.
