Gas Field Studies

Geology and Petrophysics of the Victor Field

A. M. Conway

Exploration and Production Conoco (U.K.) Ltd.

The Victor Gas Field is located in the Southern North Sea Gas Province some 140 km east of the Lincolnshire coast. The Lower Permian Leman Sandstone Formation (Rotliegendes Group) forms the reservoir and consists entirely of sandstones with occasional silty shales in the basal section. It rests uncomformably on the Carboniferous, which was uplifted, gently folded and eroded during the Variscan Orogeny.
