The classification used in this chapter follows that of the authors of the Treatise pt. I, and Wenz, Gastropoda in Handbuch der Paläozoologie Band 6, 1938–1944.

Order PALAEOLORICATA Bergenhayn 1955

First, U.Camb.: Preacanthochiton cooperi & P. productus Bergenhayn, Eminence Fm, Missouri (Bergenhayn 1960, p. 169).

Last: Cret M. Campan: Scanochiton and Olingechiton Bergenhayn 1943, Mammillatus Z., Locality Sweden (Bergenhayn 1943 & 1960).

Constituent taxa: Chelodina Bergenhayn (Families as in Treatise pt. I) and Septemchiton Bergenhayn = Solenocaris (Information from Dr. W. D. I. Rolfe) plus Preacanthochitonidae Bergenhayn and Eochelodidae Marek.

Order NEOLORICATA Bergenhayn 1955

First, Ord Ashg: Helminthochiton thraivensis Reed, Starfish Bed, Drummock Gp. Ayrshire, Scotland. (Reed 1911). Extant.

Constituent taxa as in Treatise pt. I.

Note: Helminthochiton aequivoca (Robson 1913) L. Ord Aren, Bohemia, appears to more likely belong to the Palaeoloricata.

Order TRYBLIDIOIDEA Lemche 1957

First, L. Camb: Scenella discinoides, H. kjerulfi Beds, 1b{alpha}, Estonia (Opik 1956, p. 114). Extant.

Constituent taxa: as in Treatise pt. I.

Comment: Unknown in Mesozoic & Tertiary rocks

Order ARCHINACELLOIDEA Knight & Yochelson 1958

First, U. Camb: Hypseloconus elongates Berkey, U. Dresbachian, Taylor Falls conglomerate, Wisconsin, U.S.A. (Berkey 1898, p. 282).

Last, Sil Lldov: Archinacella canadensis (Whiteaves) 1884, Niagara Fm, Ontario, Canada (Bassler 1915).
